Next we have Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner ($4.49) "Gives instant colour impact with its high intensity pigments. The ultra-smooth and creamy formula glides on easily." To be honest I don't use eyeliner and I don't think I ever tried applying it before receiving this product to test. I tried applying this product and so far I was way off with my lines and ended up looking ridiculous. The product does seem to have some decent staying power as I had trouble washing all of it off.
And another makeup product-NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum ($1.99) "Ready to take your lips to the next level? Try our NEW Expert Last Lip Color in 20 tantalizing shades. Get intense, amplified color and shine that lasts up to six hours! Our moisturizing formula glides on easily for a silky, smooth, velvety finish for all day wear." I found the smell of this product to be somewhat pleasant. It is relatively easy to apply and is a nice everyday pink shade. Although I am not thrilled with its ingredients, I like how affordable this lipstick is. And it has pretty good staying power.
I was pleased to see a hairbrush in my box and even more pleased to see it was from Eco-Tools. ($10.99) "EcoTools hairbrushes designed with unique features that leave your head and hair happy and healthy. Long or short, straight or curly, EcoTools has the brush to tame any hairstyle with a variety of five brush head shapes and bristles designs specifically crafted to suit every need." First of all I love the brand mission of recycling and sustainability. I love that the packaging and product as made a recycled and renewable resources. I like that the product is relativity light weight as well and easy to hold. It works well whether my hair is wet or dry. It is also great at detangling my hair.
I was also sent some edible products to test and review. Beauty products and edible/food products are some my favorites to sample. So I was pretty pleased with the overall assortment of this box. First I was sent a couple tea bags to try out-Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea "Live life well this holiday season with Celestial Seasonings and take a stroll down Candy Cane Lane! It's made with the finest green tea leaves, peppermint and other botanicals, because at Celestial Seasonings, we know you are what you steep." These a nice smell to them and when I looked at the ingredients list for this tea it sounded interesting. I don't usually drink a lot of green tea or decaf but I am always willing to give a new tea a try. I was sent a little sample pack containing two tea bags. I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty. It has a strong mint flavor with hints of vanilla and cinnamon.
And the next thing that was in the box was a jar of McCormick Gourmet Thyme ($4.79) "The freshest flavors deserve a fresh new look! McCormick Gourmet's Thyme imparts a light minty flavor that is distinctively warm and aromatic. McCormick Gourmet's Thyme can be used through out the day in dishes such as breakfast casseroles, hearty soups, stews, stuffing, and oven roasted chicken." I don't use a lot of time in my cooking. I like that the spice is pretty fresh and smells nice. I tried it in several dishes and was pretty pleased with the results. A couple recipes I used it in-Homefries with onions and thyme, squash chips, and butternut squash and pasta with browned butter and thyme.
The last product in box was a bag of Fruit Vines Bites ($1.28-$1.79) "Fruit Vines Bites are a new, soft, chewy fruit candy, from the Red Vines Family, available in two fruit flavors-strawberry and cherry. Low fat and made with no preservatives, Fruit Vines are available in three sizes: a 2 oz single serve, a 5 oz hanging bag and a 10 oz resealable stand-up bag and can be found at Walmart in the West, Kroger, Target, Safeway, and Rite Aid." I like that is product is nice and fresh and doesn't have any preservatives. I don't like that it contains artificially flavors. It isn't real fruity and I found it hard to pin point which particular fruit was used. It has a nice texture overall.
