The Taste: Tuesday at 9|8c on ABC (spoiler alert)

A couple weeks ago Influenster reintroduced me to a new show called The Taste. I had seen a couple commercials for this show but hadn't gotten a chance to watch it yet and sort of forgot about it. The Taste air s Tuesdays on 9/8 c on ABC. I really enjoy watching all kinds of reality tv and competition shows. My favorite ones usually involve singing or food. :) Here's so info the show and its format (from ABC's website)

"One blind spoonful could change everything on ABC’s “The Taste.” This new cooking competition show is literally all about taste.

Sixteen competitors, from pro chefs to home cooks, whip up dishes attempting to impress four of the world’s most notable chefs.  The catch is all the dishes will be judged in a blind taste test. In this pressure-packed contest, the taste of a single spoonful can catapult a contender to the top or send him packing.

“The Taste” features no-holds barred chef Anthony Bourdain, British food star Nigella Lawson, expert chef and author Ludo Lefebvre and restaurateur Brian Malarkey. Each of the four culinary superstars and “Taste” mentors – Bourdain, Lawson, Lefebvre and Malarkey – will coach a team of four competing pro and amateur cooks chosen from a nationwide casting call as they vie to create the best tasting dish.

In each episode, the groups will face team and individual challenges with a variety of culinary themes through several elimination rounds. At the end of each episode, the mentors will have to judge the competitors’ dishes blind, with no knowledge of whose creation they’re sampling, what they’re eating, how it was prepared or whom they could be eliminating."

I love the fact that they are judged on one spoonful of food and the fact that it is a blind tasting for the team and individual challenges. Each episode has a theme and so far there have been 2 audition episodes and 3 regular episodes-wine pairings, sandwiches, and this weeks episode nose to tail.

Ok here come the spoilers-a few of my thoughts on this weeks episode. I was leery to watch this episode because of its theme-Nose To Tail. I appreciate the concept of not wasting any part of the animal however I don't wish to eat the off cuts myself nor do I care to watch any of them being prepared.

Everyone kitchen is down to three members except Nigella's who is only down to one member. I wonder if this will be the end for team Nigella. This weeks episode makes me a bit nauseous. The mentors chose 4 off cuts that their teams can work with for the team challenge. I am sitting here trying not to look to closely at the     pig blood, sweet breads, pigs tongue, pig brain, lamb testicles, ect. I am sitting here cringing when they describe their dishes.

And Gregg's spoon goes up again. I don't like Gregg's attitude and kind of want him to get eliminated. And Gregg wins the team challenge for team Ludo and get immunity for the 3rd week in a row. The judges from the team challenge always help the winning team for the individual challenge. Tonight is even more intense because they are eliminating 3 people this week. Ouch Gregg just cut himself-looks painful and I have already seen enough blood in this weeks episode.

It keeps you on the edge of your seat because you are never quite sure what dishes the mentors will like. And results time-Khristianne has two gold star, Jeff has one gold star, Uno has a gold and a red star, Adam has a red star, Ninamarie has a red star, and Lauren has a read star. This might be the end for team Nigella.

And Adam, NinaMarie, and Uno go home. I was surprised they sent Uno home and not Lauren. I wonder how long Lauren and team Nigella can last. I can't wait till next weeks episode to find out. Right now I am think Khristianne will be the winner.
